Why Exist?

700 million people around the world live today in extreme poverty they subsist on less than $2.15 per day, the extreme poverty line.

  • Just over half of these people live in Sub-Saharan Africa.

  • At current rates of progress, the world will likely not meet the global goal of ending extreme poverty by 2030.

  • 2030 estimates indicate nearly 600 million people will still be struggling in extreme poverty by then.

Poverty Challenge    RESOURCES

  • Poverty can be a cyclical trap.  For people to rise above poverty, they need education, proper health care and sanitation, access to clean water, and job opportunities that can help them improve their financial situation. Unfortunately, people in poverty often live in areas low on these resources.

  • Inequalities of income, education, and opportunity are all interconnected and must be addressed together. Reducing inequalities of opportunity and of incomes among individuals, populations, and regions can foster social cohesion and boost general well-being.

The Goal

Eliminate Poverty for 465,920 people by 2030

  • Business guru Jim Collins uses a term to reference a big goal known as a – BHAG’s (Big Hairy Audacious Goals) which is what GRC is looking at to eliminate poverty for 465,920 by 2030 through additional agricultural training, clean water systems installed, K - 12 and adult vocational training increased, additional medical and nursing services brought in, and additional housing developed, and new job growth as entrepreneurial levels are increased within the communities GRC works in directly or with other individual and other agencies in the same areas which includes the spread of practical knowledge.

  • Furthermore, because multiplication can be “caught” and “taught”, a multiplication approach embeds and reinforces knowledge, while empowering those trained by GRC to become multipliers themselves.

  • GRC has demonstrated the capacity to engage in its equipping mission at every geographic level, from local villages, to global gatherings, and every level in between. It has also been privileged to see the clear impact of its engagement: reduced hunger and improved lives.

  • To accomplish this "BHAG", GRC will embrace its Vision, Mission, and Core Values which are as follows:
